At 10:16 a.m. CST (1616 GMT), CBOT corn was up 3/4 to 1-1/4 cents per bushel. December was up 1-1/2 at $1.97-3/4 per bushel. Pit sources said FIMAT Futures bought 500 December.
Corn traders said the market was attempting to consolidate near the contract lows that were set on Monday.
Although the short covering buoyed prices a bit, the big supply of feed grains and concerns about the potential impact of bird flu continue to limit gains, the traders said.
